About Us

Our Story

Michelle Gadaleta, owner of DDT, is striving for Double Dyme to be known as a neighborhood “dive-bar”, however she has great taste in food, wine and spirits (particularly tequila) and is an amazing cook at home. She wants to bring her passions to her hometown neighborhood. Growing up on Laurel Street and going to Sayreville High School, she is back in her hometown putting out her favorite home cooked meals! She has worked in the hospitality industry for over 10 years and has no sign of slowing down now!

Steven Schmidt, owner and operator of SJS Construction & DDT, gutted the building and built it from the ground up! He is the talent behind our beautiful design!

Lauren Lenihan is Michelle’s best friend and other half. She is Director of Operations for a hospitality group in NYC and has opened multiple restaurants, bars & nightclubs. While you may not see her as often, she always brings the most energy! She is our expert in Events, Parties and Planning!
